Filiz Cicioglu is graduated from Sakarya University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations in 2001 and from Sakarya University with a Ph.D. through her dissertation "The Approach of NGOs Towards Turkey’s European Union Policy within the Framework of Civil Society-Foreign Policy Relations" in 2011. She is an associate professor of International Relations in Sakarya University and teaches on politics in the European Union and International Organizations. Her main research areas are the European Union, Turkey-EU relations, and civil societies in Turkey and Europe. Her recent works have been published in academic journals and edited books.
