Hamdullah Baycar

Hamdullah Baycar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ), Türkiye. He received his PhD from the University of Exeter’s Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies and holds an MA from Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. His research focuses on nationalism, identity politics, and state–society relations in the Gulf region, with particular emphasis on the United Arab Emirates and broader GCC politics. His work also explores Indian Ocean networks, foreign policy analysis, and cultural politics. He serves as Review Editor at Insight Turkey and was named a “40 Under 40” awardee by the Middle East Policy Council.
