Dr. Ünlü received his PhD in September 2019 from the Department of Political Science at Istanbul University’s Institute of Social Sciences, with a dissertation titled “The Change of the Dominant Party System in India: An Institutionalist Analysis.” His primary research interests include Asian politics with a focus on South Asia, comparative strategy and security, state-society relations, political institutions, nationalism, and political parties. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Security and International Relations at the National Defense University’s Joint War College. Dr. Ünlü has collaborated with numerous think tanks, including GASAM, TAV, SETA, ORSAM, and ASEM, and his analyses have been featured in prominent media outlets such as Daily Sabah, Star-Açık Görüş, AA Analysis, TRT Haber, NTV, A Haber, Kanal 24, and TVNET.
